[Due to COVID-19 we will postpone this event till July 4th (as of now), but please continue to register for a place at the event]
VUWWIT (Victoria University of Wellington Women in Tech) is a student-led group for women and gender diverse students studying computer science, engineering, and STEM subjects. Diversity is our passion and our purpose. We want to make sure girls are getting the opportunity to learn about technology in a fun and inclusive environment, so we thought we would do our part by hosting a Tech Day for Girls for Year 11-13 students!
Our aims with this outreach day are to:
- Introduce female and gender diverse students to Engineering and Computer Science at VUW
- Expose students to the fun and challenging activities in tech
- Encourage students to consider study or a career in STEM
We will run four interactive workshops throughout the day.
NOTE: This event is aimed at female and gender diverse students. However, if we have the space, we are willing to allow boys in. We simply want to avoid taking away the opportunity from a female or gender diverse student first! Please get in touch if you are interested but are male.
Teachers, parents, and guardians may accompany students. Please note on the registration form if a teacher, parent or guardian is intending on attending (for catering and safety purposes).
If you are organizing a group of attendees, please fill out this form regarding chaperones and safety measures.
We ask that you give us at least one week's notice (before 29th June) if you need to withdraw from this event to prevent being charged a cancellation fee.
All students will receive a free goodie bag.
Come along for an awesome day of tech!
